Season/Series 4 To Finally Air In The UK.... But ONLY on E4

Just saw this on the Ugly Betty Season 4 page on Wikipedia....:

'Season 4 will première in the UK on August 2010 and it will complete its 20-episode run by December 2010. However, it will NO LONGER be shown on Channel 4, but will be exclusive on E4.'

Wikipedia- Ugly Betty Season 4

Hmm... I wonder if the decision not to air series 4 on Channel 4 in Britain next month might have something to do with the poor ratings in America, which as a result led to the show being cancelled. Did Channel 4 acted on this based on the problems it experienced in the States, in spite of the rave reviews it received? Or could there be another reason.

Looking back on the UK figures for season 3, I thought they was reasonably good- even though many fans disliked the third series.

I'm thinking however that many fans do have access to digital TV and E4 so they can watch the final series; although those that do not may have to get themselves a set top box. Still, news of its exclusivity on E4, with virtually no chance of the final season being shown on Channel 4 in the night, could and will dismay fans who have got used to watching Ugly Betty on Friday and Wednesday evenings on that station.

The U.K. is one of the very few to last countries yet to air the penultimate season; with the U.S and Canada already finishing its runs 3 months ago on ABC and City TV and just last month, Australia's 7TWO network.

Speaking of the 7TWO network, they did air the last 2 seasons of Ugly Betty (seasons 3 and 4) on there and both did well. I do not know how well season 4 will fare on E4 alone, given that season 1 was aired on channel 4 and seasons 2 and 3 were aired on E4 and Channel 4 on Fridays then Wednesday nights. Without its core showing on Channel 4, it may not perform so well. Season 3's figures on E4 were in the regions of 100,000+, whilst on Channel 4, it attracted over 1 million.

Therefore, it is the UK based Channel 4 Betty contingent, who unfortunately for them, will be the ones who will ultimately miss out on the final series, as opposed to E4's audience.

Mark Indelicato To Appear On Hot In Cleveland

Mark Indelicato — the 16-year-old screen star who played “Betty’’s” flamboyantly fashion-obsessed nephew, Justin, on ABC’’s now-defunct dramedy “Ugly Betty — will drop by the summer’s hottest sitcom for a one-episode guest arc, premiering next month.
Indelicato will revisit his Justin’s roots as Broadway fanatic in an episode of Hot In Cleveland — titled “”The Play’s the Thing” — airing Wednesday, August 4.
“Mark Indelicato plays “Zack,” a drama nerd and fan of Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) who invites his hero to give some notes on his school’s production of “Romeo & Juliet.” Gary Anthony Williams plays “Coach Taylor” who trains and treats the drama team like a football team, much to Zack’s dismay. Hilarity ensues when Ms. Chase ends up giving more than just a few notes,” the network announced in a presser issued Monday.
Hot In Cleveland — recently renewed for a second season — airs Wednesdays @ 10PM on TV Land.
The job market is looking bright for the former Betty cast. Vanessa Williams, who portrayed divalicious and devious ex-model Wilihemina Slater, has landed a recurring role on the next season of Desperate Housewives. While pregnant star Becki Newton (Amanda) has been cast in NBC’s freshman romantic-comedy Love Bites.

Betty fans, I summon you that you vote in the E! On-line yearly Tater Top Awards - ceremony that celebrates shows that are no longer around due to them ending for good, or being cancelled. Or make that both.

After the tragic snubbing of the Emmys  towards Ugly Betty- yet again, this one sure looks more interesting than the over-rated-yet mainstream Emmy awards.

Our show is nominated in 2 categories: 'Star that you'll miss most' in America Ferrera and Ugly Betty in 'Show you'll miss most'.

What are you waiting for? Get voting for both of them! Just click on the link below.

Winners are announced on July 20 in a week's time.

The Brit romcom, which begins shooting on June 26, is penned by Neil Jaworski and comedienne Sally Phillips, who also takes a supporting role in the pic.
