Question: If You Had the Choice, What Would You Have Preferred To See?

Ugly Betty movie got 12% (5 votes) of the vote, whilst series/season 5 received 87% (35 votes)

This result shows that though some would be happy to see a movie, like with Sex And The Citythe rest of the fans would have opted for a 5th season; given the mixed reaction the series finale received.
I for one prefer seeing season 5; especially as we could've expected more from the show that likewise has been a little lacking in season 4.

Hence, more Marc and Amanda, seeing more of Betty living on her own, Amanda fulfilling her dream of becoming a stylist- which never happened. Of Wihelmina and her being owner of Mode. Even perhaps the return of Alexis and so forth.

The series finale may have wrapped up many of the story-lines and closed chapters- yet the ending felt rushed and especially as it had given us every reason to believe that the show had plenty more to offer. Had it not been for its cancellation.

As usual, many thanks to all who voted!

  1. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the ending was rushed. It's like they tried to fit a season and a half into maybe 6 episodes. I guess that's what happened once they got the news the show was cancelled. In one way it was good to get some kind of closure/answers to a lot of storylines but at what cost?

Let's just hope if they do make a movie it's not one of those 89 minute ones where you just get interested and the credits are rolling. I think Betty deserves better...

  2. heaven_lea27 - yep, with news of it being cancelled, the writers and horta had to plan an altenative ending. obviously the one we saw would not have happened and events would not have unravelled the way it did.

still, it's good they did wrap it up- i've been a fan of cancelled shows in the past, whose series finales NEVER saw the light of day. as they were left unresolved and open.

  3. Me too! I hate that...

Living in Australia, we get a lot of hte new shows from around the globe but by the time we get them, a lot have already been canned where they originated from. I don't understand why they would bother broadcasting a show they know only lasted 2-3 episodes...

Still, that's tv exes for you!

Maybe we should all band together and write the endings ourselves... I guess we do in a way when we write fanfics lol.

  4. writing fanfics is almost like writing new episodes for the show itself! :-)

season 4 is about to be shown here in the UK next week on wed, although i have seen all the eps on-line so i know what happens in each of them. therefore, i don't think i will bother watching most of them on E4.

as for televising a show that only lasted 2, 3 eps, well 1 thing is ugly betty lasted 4 series and it didn't even have 100 eps in total.

the tv world can be so fickle, especially to its fans that's for sure.
