Ahahaha- the beginning when bobby was about to kiss who he thought was Hilda, but is Betty! that was funny!
Marc mentioned Troy the first time since episode and now he got dumped??! Poor Marc. I think he knows how Cliff feels now in being dumped. Troy reminds of a much slimmer, fit- version of Cliff.
London looks so snazzy! Recognised the Black taxi and Red telephone box. still think it would be better if they filmed it in London.
YAY to Christina and Gio- loved them in this episode! would liked to have seen a little bit more of Christina but it was great to see them again. :-)
For an English pub, they seem to be playing 'Irish music' in the background- am I the only one who noticed this? it was an Irish pub right?
betty's a mo-bot thing and gio mentioned he was engaged. gio has a point though- I think her focus lies in something deeper than fashion. Season 1 betty in season 4 would settle for a career in fashion, but season 4 betty in season 4, 3 years on Betty is a different person. She needs to find out what that thing is. I do think though that what Gio is insinuating, it is something that is relationship-love based. as opposed to work and career-wise.
Amanda's quitting Mode huh? Is she really going to go for it and fulfil her dream as a stylist? I'm a little surprised this didn't happen as earlier as the first half of this season, or as soon as after the Betty/Matt/Amanda love triangle. But, I'm looking forward to what she is going to do to make this fantasy turn into a reality. Amanda has some funny lines in this ep as well, especially when she said to Christina: 'Christina, your dreams came true, I didn't see that for you!' LOL!
The props crew got the look of london just right I think. I liked the red phone box and Black taxi- nice touch!
Bobby catches Justin and Austin kissing outside- so now he knows. Justin told him not to tell Hilda, but will Bobby tell her anyway? It is more likely she will find out about Justin and his boyfriend herself. Hope this is resolved before the show ends.
Now Claire told Daniel about Tyler, will they rescue him from Willie? Willie's well we all know what willie's plan is - to drive a wedge between Daniel, Claire and Tyler- Queen Bitch Willie is back and she means business!
Henry returning.... I am not looking forward to this. Don't see the point having him back on the show.
*Final Comments:
This was a wonderful, wonderful episode- loved it from start to finish. I don't have anything against it. Great moments and was so cool to have Gio and Christina back, even if it was for just one episode. some really interesting moments too. The second half of season 4 has been a mixed reception for many fans, but I've enjoyed it more and more as it continues, especially compared to the first 10 eps of season 4.
London Calling is definitely worth revisiting on DVD when it is released in August of this year. It has overtaken Million Dollar Smile as my favourite now!
Agree with you on every point, Waiching!
ReplyDeleteBeing the big Gio fan that I am, I was satisfied that his character was brought full circle. Although I won't get to see him and Betty "end up together" - I love that both demonstrated their friendship and affection.
Christina was a hoot as well! Seeing her and Gio was such a great treat.
Of course, I hated seeing Henry back because it seems the writers of the show can't think of anything more dramatic for every season finale than bringing him back.
Re: the London set. As soon as I saw spoiler pics for this episode, I wondered if you would approve of the way they portrayed your fabulous city! Glad you approved! :D If the cost was too much for them to actually go there, I'm glad it was close to the real thing.
Liu. I am loving your reviews. I am glad you also enjoyed the episode. you're right... Christina could have been used more in this episode. But I am glad that Gio came back.
ReplyDeleteReally bad choice in making Henry coming back. Fans are not interested that character anymore.
I really wished they would film in London but I do remember in one podcast one fan asked if they would ever film in London (season 2 or 3 podcast I think) and Becki and Michael said they wished but that was unlikely because of the costs. At least they gave some sort of a treat to their loyal Brit fans (they are so many!!... oh you must know that more than me :D )
