Behind The Scenes On Season 4

Tom from Ugly Betty News posted this video on his site the other day- unfortunately however, if you lived outside the U.S, the video would not play at all. However, a person going by the username of Cottypunk has posted it on You Tube and it works. Very interesting it is too.

The crew discuss what lies in store in Season 4 of Ugly Betty, and in particular they highlight the major changes taking place with Betty, herself.

I felt a sense of  hope and optimism by what Sheila Lawrence said: 'With Season 4, we're trying to take this opportunity to really make Betty a fish out of water again. To make her the lovable underdog'.
Now this is what we are hoping for with Season 4 Betty- that she becomes the character we all relate to, as well as we all love, admire and respect from the first series.

Having seen this vid, I am hopeful that we will see the Betty Suarez of Season 1- and not this confused, naive, weak, mostly 'disjointed' Betty of Season 3. I am happy that the writers/producers have decided to grasp a proper hold of America's character and by making her start from scratch. Not from a physical aspect, but in terms of her character and as a person within the show.  Because a lot of fans were (rightly) upset at the direction Betty was heading last season and with her as a person and so, I think these changes, will- fingers crossed- do her and this show, a world of good.

It is important that Betty progresses as opposed to regressing as a character, especially as her physical appearance gradually improves- I still cannot get my head round as to how she got the editor's job over Marc, because for me, he had worked much harder than Betty did, all last season and it is a shame he hasn't really been properly rewarded for all his efforts at Mode and YETI.

Still, I hope he does get promoted, alongside Amanda, and that Betty herself really tries to not only move forward as a person, but also in life; therefore, if she ever wants to become really successful and happy and content, she has to like, for example, move out of Queens, again- and for good this time.

But this video is worth a watch.
